Free Motion Machine Quilting 101

Want to learn the basics on machine quilting? Not all of it has to be done on a long arm machine. Suzie shows you how to accomplish wonderful results on your home machine. It's a great class to learn the basics and get off and running on your own quilting.

Finishing Class

The follow up class to the beginning class. Learn about battings, how to make your "sandwich" of quilt top, batting and backing. Pinning, quilting, trimming and binding are also covered. The quilt top to be done is the one from the beginning quilting class.

Do you want to learn to sew? Learn how to use your machine? This is the class for you. It is a 4-week class where you learn the basics of sewing and you will make a project each week! The four projects are a draw string baq, pillowcase, key chain and an apron. We may offer Level 2 & 3 classes with 4 more projects each. A sample of each project is available to view in the store classroom area.

This is the sixth in a monthly series of making a different bag/tote each month starting in January, 2024. The classes will be held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 10:00 - 4:00 p.m. Zippered pouches are perfect for storing and carrying makeup, sewing supplies, and more. You may quilt the fabric of leave it unquilted. They are quick to make and you should be able to make at least 2 if not 3 pouches in class.

We have a "EPP Sit & Sew Group" that meets each 3rd Thursday of each month from 1:00 - 4:00 led by Elizabeth Frey-Thomas. Whether you are curious what EPP is all about, want to start a project or learn new patterns using various EPP methods, you are welcome to stop in. No pre-registration necessary and no cost to attend.

Making this quilt gives you plenty of practice cutting, sewing even seams, and playing with color. So collect your scraps or your favorite fabric collection and make a "happy" quilt.
